Mintyukov helped out on an Alex Killorn tally in the second period, which tied the game at 3-3. With three helpers over his last six games, Mintyukov has leveled off on offense. He started the year hot before fading in mid-November, and there's likely to be more streaky play as the 20-year-old continues his adjustment to the NHL. He's managed a goal, 12 helpers, four power-play points, 41 shots on net, 37 hits, 26 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 24 appearances.

The 19-year-old defenseman is up to 10 points, 24 shots on net, 24 hits, 18 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 14 contests. While Connor Bedard is the favorite for the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie, Mintyukov is hanging around in the conversation by ranking third in points by a rookie so far this season.

It seems unlikely he'll be heading back to the junior ranks given his early success at the NHL level.

Mintyukov saw a season-low 17:46 of ice time, but he still handled a large power-play role. The 19-year-old defenseman hasn't looked out of place so far with a goal, two assists, 10 shots on net, 12 hits, seven blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through six appearances. His helper Tuesday was his first point in the last three games.
