The Colts placed Ogletree (knee) on injured reserve Thursday.
This transaction will officially sideline Ogletree for the entirety of his rookie season after he suffered a torn ACL during practice Wednesday. The 2022 sixth-round pick managed to turn some heads with his impressive performance during his first training camp with Indianapolis, though he will now have to turn his focus toward his recovery heading into the 2023 regular season.

Ogletree (knee) suffered a torn ACL during Wednesday's practice, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Ogletree's injury was of the non-contact variety, which often is a worrisome sign when it comes to the severity. Indeed, the 2022 sixth-round pick has a confirmed ACL tear following an MRI, very likely ending his rookie campaign. In Ogletree's absence, the tight end competition behind starter Mo Alie-Cox includes second-year pro Kylen Granson and fellow rookie Jelani Woods, among others.

Colts' Andrew Ogletree: Will undergo MRI
Ogletree left Wednesday's practice with a knee injury and will undergo an MRI, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Per Erickson, Ogletree went down on a non-contact play, and Colts head coach Frank Reich said "it didn't look good." Ogletree has reportedly had a strong camp, but this is obviously a concerning development for the rookie sixth-round pick.

Ogletree had one reception for five yards on two targets, including a drop, but he had a 17-yard TD from Sam Ehlinger wiped out by a penalty away from the catch, Fox 59 Indianapolis reports.
Ogletree was seen having a strong camp and moved ahead of third-round pick Jelani Woods on the depth chart, but Saturday's game was more of a mixed bag. Woods had a decent game, so the competition for the No. 3 tight end role remains in flux.

Ogletree is seen having a strong camp so far while Jelani Woods and Kylen Granson have struggled at times. Ogletree is a sixth-round 2022 draft pick and operates in a run-first offense, so it's hard to get too excited after a few positive practice reports. However, Mo Alie-Cox isn't an established starting tight end and others at the position don't have much experience, so Ogletree's progress this preseason is worth watching.

Colts' Andrew Ogletree: Yet another TE to Indy
The Colts selected Ogletree in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 192nd overall.
Ogletree becomes the second tight end selected by the Colts over the last two days. The Youngstown State product did run a 4.70 40-yard dash at 260 pounds during his pro day, but he lacks agility and didn't flash the aforementioned straight-end speed on tape. Ogletree, who will be 24 by the start of the 2022 season, likely will be a special teams asset, at best, entering his rookie year.
