  • Colts' Trey Sermon: Re-signs with Indy

The Colts re-signed Sermon on Thursday, JJ Stankevitz of the team's official site reports.

In 14 games for the Colts during the 2023 regular season, Sermon rushed 35 times (including 17 carries in Week 15) for 160 yards to go along with three catches for 13 yards. With Zack Moss now with the Bengals, Sermon will have a chance to carve out a complementary role behind starter Jonathan Taylor in 2024, but chances are Indianapolis will add further backfield depth via free agency or the draft.

  • Colts' Joe Flacco: Inking with Indy

Flacco agreed to terms Wednesday with the Colts on a one-year contract worth up to $8.7 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Flacco's deal reportedly includes $4.5 million guaranteed. The reigning NFL Comeback Player of the Year is coming off an impressive showing with Cleveland last season, and he's now slated to replace Gardner Minshew as the top backup to second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder). All expectations in Indianapolis are that Richardson will be ready for training camp and fully cleared well ahead of Week 1, but Flacco makes for a capable backup should he be required to take the field during the 2024 season. Even if Richardson maintains health all season, Flacco should at least make for a valuable mentor for the young signal-caller.

  • Colts' Rigoberto Sanchez: Agrees to extension with Indy

The Colts are re-signing Sanchez to a three-year contract, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Sanchez has served as the primary punter and kickoff specialist in Indianapolis since the start of the 2017 season, and it doesn't seem like he's eager to leave any time soon. He was solid in 2023, averaging 48.3 yards per punt.

  • Colts' Genard Avery: Will get another chance with Indy

Avery (knee) re-signed with the Colts on a one-year deal Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Avery signed with Indianapolis last offseason, but he suffered an LCL and meniscus injury during training camp that required season-ending surgery. He'll now get a second chance with the team and will likely be working to earn a depth role on the defensive line.

  • Colts' Ronnie Harrison: Re-ups with Colts for one year

Harrison re-signed with the Colts on a one-year contract Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Harrison appeared in seven games for Indianapolis in 2023, notching 20 tackles (11 solo) and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He could be in line to compete for a starting role in 2024 if the Colts don't bring in another safety via free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft.
