  • Browns' David Njoku: Six catches from backup QB

Njoku (arm/face) caught six of seven targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens.

Njoku didn't seem negatively affected by the burns he suffered in a home accident Saturday, as he was the only player to exceed 20 receiving yards for the Browns with backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center in place of Deshaun Watson (shoulder). The veteran tight end set season highs in targets and catches while finishing two yards shy of his season high, but Njoku's outlook for Week 6 against the 49ers would still benefit if Watson returns following the Week 5 bye. Njoku caught two touchdowns in five games alongside Watson last season, but he's still searching for his first score of 2023.

  • Browns' Amari Cooper: One catch from backup QB

Cooper caught one of six targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens.

Cooper was held without a catch on two first-half targets with rookie fifth-round pick Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center, as Deshaun Watson (shoulder) was ruled out during pregame warmups. The veteran wide receiver finally made a catch in the third quarter, but that was Cooper's only reception of the game, as Thompson-Robinson threw for only 121 yards with three interceptions. A tough matchup with the 49ers looms in Week 6 following a Week 5 bye, but Cooper's chances of bouncing back would be boosted substantially if Watson's able to return following the Week 5 bye.

  • Browns' Jerome Ford: Bottled up with Watson out

Ford rushed nine times for 26 yards while catching five of six targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens.

Ford struggled to find running lanes with Baltimore stacking the box against rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson after Deshaun Watson (shoulder) was ruled out during pregame warmups. On the bright side, Ford led the Browns in rushing attempts again while Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong had five carries apiece. Ford should continue to lead Cleveland's backfield when the Browns host the 49ers in Week 6, and Watson could be back under center after the team's Week 5 bye.

  • Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Picked off thrice in first start

Thompson-Robinson completed 19 of 36 passes for 121 yards and three interceptions while rushing four times for 24 yards in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens.

Thompson-Robinson made his first NFL start after Deshaun Watson (shoulder) was ruled out during pregame warmups. After showcasing a promising mix of passing and rushing ability in preseason, the 2023 fifth-round pick out of UCLA was overmatched in his regular-season debut. Thompson-Robinson turned 17 first-half pass attempts into 60 yards and an interception, as the Browns took a 21-3 deficit into the locker room. His second-half performance was equally ineffective, with an interception in the end zone on the game's final play fittingly capping the forgettable debut. Cleveland will be on bye in Week 5, which will likely provide enough time for Watson's shoulder to recover before the 49ers come to town in Week 6.

  • Browns' Myles Garrett: Injures leg during loss

Garrett suffered a lower leg injury during Cleveland's 28-3 loss to Baltimore on Sunday.

Garett was spotted wearing a walking boot following the loss, during which he registered a sack. Through four games, the one-time first-overall pick has logged nine tackles (eight solo), including 5.5 sacks. If Garrett is forced to miss time, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo will likely start in his place.

  • Browns' Ethan Pocic: Leaves game again

Pocic has exited Sunday's game against the Raves with a knee injury, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Pocic left in the first half with a chest injury and was able to return at the start of the second half. However, he quickly was injured again, this time involving a knee. Nick Harris will likely take back over at center.

  • Browns' Alex Wright: Leaves with injury

Wright (chest) has exited Sunday's game against the Ravens, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Wright is questionable to return but while he is out, the Browns will be light on the edges. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo will likely see extra work behind Myles Garrett and Za'Darius Smith.

  • Browns' David Njoku: Cleared to play Sunday

Njoku (arm/face) is active for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Njoku was a late addition to the injury report Saturday after he reportedly suffered burns to his arm and face during a home accident. According to Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, Njoku was sporting a covering on the bottom of his face in pregame warmups, but wearing a helmet and uniform otherwise doesn't look to be anything that will put him in too much discomfort. The 27-year-old should be ready to handle his normal role as the Browns' top tight end, though he'll be on the receiving end of passes from rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson with regular starter Deshaun Watson (shoulder) inactive for the contest.

  • Browns' Deshaun Watson: Not suiting up Sunday

Watson (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Though reports heading into Sunday suggested that Watson was on track to play through his bruised right shoulder, the quarterback will ultimately sit out after his throwing didn't go as well as the Browns had hoped during pregame warmups, per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Rookie fifth-round pick Dorian Thompson-Robinson will pick up his first NFL start in place of Watson, while PJ Walker -- whom the Browns elevated from the practice squad Saturday -- serves as Thompson-Robinson's backup. Cleveland is on bye Week 5, so Watson will have some extended time to rest his shoulder before the Browns return to action Oct. 15 versus the 49ers.

  • Browns' David Njoku: Expected to play Sunday

Njoku (arm/face) is in line to play Sunday against the Ravens,Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Per Russini, Njoku sustained burns on his arms and face from a fire pit accident ahead of the contest, and the team was concerned about the tight end's comfort wearing a helmet. It appears as though he'll give it a go Sunday, however, an outcome that will be confirmed either way when the Browns' inactives are posted prior to the team's 1:00 kickoff.

  • Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: In line to start Sunday

Thompson-Robinson is slated to start at quarterback in Sunday's game against the Ravens in place of the injured Deshaun Watson (shoulder) Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Per Cabot, the Browns had optimism that Watson would be able to start Sunday despite carrying a questionable tag into the weekend, but he'll end up sitting out the Week 4 contest after he was still experiencing discomfort while throwing in pregame warmups. Watson's absence paves the way for Thompson-Robinson, a rookie fifth-round pick out of UCLA, to make his first NFL start. Thompson-Robinson put his dual-threat skill set on display during the preseason, completing 37 of 58 attempts for 440 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while carrying 14 times for 69 yards over four contests. Though Watson is likely to be back in action following the Browns' Week 5 bye, Thompson-Robinson could make for an appealing cost-relief option in Week 4 DFS contests or as a lineup option in season-long leagues with a QB flex spot.

  • Browns' Deshaun Watson: Not slated to start Sunday

Watson (shoulder) is not in line to play Sunday against the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

As a result, Dorian Thompson-Robinson is expected to start at QB for the Browns on Sunday. Watson will thus target a potential return to the starting lineup against the 49ers on Oct. 15.
