  • Jets' Quincy Williams: Unavailable for Week 4

Williams (ankle) has been ruled out for the Jets' Week 4 contest against the Steelers, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.

As expected, Williams will be a no go this weekend as he nurses a high-ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 3. The linebacker is considered week-to-week by head coach Robert Saleh and Marcell Harris and Jamien Sherwood will play larger roles in his absence.

  • Jets' Zach Wilson: Says he's 100 percent

Wilson (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday and said he's "100 percent ready" to play this Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh already confirmed earlier in the day that Wilson will reclaim his role as the starting quarterback this weekend while Joe Flacco shifts back to the bench after a three-week stint marked by tons of volume (a league-high 155 pass attempts) and replacement-level efficiency (5.8 YPA, 58.7 completion percentage). The Jets obviously hope to run more, and they'll presumably do that with a more mobile quarterback in Wilson under center if they can break the trend of falling behind by multiple scores in the first half each week. Wilson has all his key pass catchers healthy for his first start of the season, but the Jets' top three offensive tackles are on injured reserve.

  • Jets' Joe Flacco: Set to resume backup duties

Flacco is set to resume backup duties Week 4 after Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced Wednesday that Zach Wilson (knee) has been medically cleared and will start Sunday's game against the Steelers, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Flacco started each of the first three games of the season, completing 58.7 percent of his passes for 901 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. He also fumbled four times, losing three of them. The veteran quarterback was solid through the first two contests, and he even led a miraculous comeback win over the Browns in Week 2. However, he struggled mightily against the Bengals in Week 3, turning the ball over four times. Regardless, when healthy, Wilson was always expected to reclaim the starting spot, so Flacco's demotion isn't due solely to his poor play. Saleh has already said multiple times this season that the team wasn't thinking about replacing Flacco with Mike White, so Flacco appears on track to serve as the top backup Sunday, and he would be the next man up if Wilson is sidelined again at any point this season.

  • Jets' Zach Wilson: In line to start Sunday

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that Wilson (knee) has been medically cleared and will start Sunday's game against the Steelers if the quarterback responds well to practice activity this week.

Wilson missed the first three games of the season while recovering from a meniscectomy and a bone bruise to his right knee, but he's on track to unseat Joe Flacco atop the depth chart for Week 4. Flacco led the league in pass attempts over the first three weeks of the season, but the Jets would ideally opt for a lower-tempo, run-heavy approach Sunday to ease Wilson back in action if the game flow allows for it.
