Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Sticks in Green Bay as ERFA
The Packers re-signed Wilson on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
An undrafted rookie in 2023, Wilson made the Packers' initial 53-man roster following the preseason and even mixed into seven regular-season games, taking 14 carries for 85 yards and hauling in four of five targets for 23 yards while working behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Green Bay swapped out Jones for Josh Jacobs and also retained Dillon this offseason, meaning Wilson is poised for a similar role in the coming campaign, barring further additions to the backfield in free agency or the draft.

Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Ends with five-touch evening
Wilson had four carries for 16 yards and one reception for 11 yards in Saturday's 24-21 loss to the 49ers.
Wilson -- an undrafted free agent -- broke camp with the Packers after an impressive preseason, and he worked mainly in a bit role before missing six games with a shoulder injury. He returned for Week 18 and did not see action, but fellow running back AJ Dillon (thumb/neck) missed both playoff games the Packers played, and Wilson worked as the backup behind Aaron Jones in both of them. The Packers will have some decisions to make at the running back position over the offseason, and Wilson showed enough during his first season as a professional to be part of the mix heading into the 2024 campaign.

Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Works in backup role
Wilson had eight carries for 20 yards in Sunday's 48-32 victory over the Cowboys.
Aaron Jones started and played 62 percent of the snaps in Sunday's game, but Wilson -- and not Patrick Taylor -- was the second running back into the game with backfield mate AJ Dillon (thumb/neck) unavailable. It's anyone's guess how the snaps will be divided among the reserves if Dillon suits up for the upcoming matchup against the 49ers, as he is easily the most established of the bunch, and Taylor fares better as a pass blocker. However, if Dillon remains out, there's at least a chance Wilson could remain in the backup role.

Wilson (shoulder) is active for Sunday's contest against the Bears.
Wilson landed on injured reserve Nov. 22 due to a shoulder injury, and he's been working his way back since then. The rookie running back was activated from IR on Saturday, setting the stage for him to make his return Sunday in a game the Packers may need to win in order to make the playoffs. Wilson's return comes at a good time for Green Bay, as AJ Dillon (neck/thumb) is inactive for the matchup.
