Titans' Wesley Woodyard: Takes step back
Woodyard recorded 42 tackles, one sack, three tackles for loss, one interception and one forced fumble across 15 games with the Titans in 2019.
After leading the team in tackles for the past two seasons, Woodyard saw a reduced role in 2019. He was on the field for over half of the team's defensive snaps in just four of 15 games, working primarily as a backup inside linebacker. Woodyard will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, and given his decreased role with the team it would not be a surprise if he were to find a new home for the 2020 campaign and beyond.

Titans' Wesley Woodyard: Several big plays
Woodyard tallied six tackles, including one sack and two tackles for a loss, in Week 6 against the Broncos.
Woodyard delivered his first sack of the season, taking down Joe Flacco late in the fourth quarter for a 10-yard loss. One quarter earlier, he also stuffed Phillip Lindsay in the backfield for a four-yard loss. Woodyard has lost significant playing time this season thanks to the emergence of second-year linebacker Rashaan Evans, though he made the most of his expanded opportunity in Week 6 after Jayon Brown (groin) was forced to leave the contest.

Titans' Wesley Woodyard: Returns from quad injury
Woodyard (quadriceps) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
Woodyard was inactive for last Thursday's loss to Jacksonville due to the quad issue, but he appears to have recovered from the injury. The veteran linebacker has played only 19 defensive snaps this season and has primarily worked on special teams.

Woodyard (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Jaguars, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Woodyard didn't participate in practice all week and he may fall victim to the shortened practice schedule leading up to this contest. If he ultimately is ruled out, the Titans' defense won't be affected harshly since the veteran linebacker has been relegated to a special-teams role this season, as Jayon Brown and Rashaan Evans have taken over starting duties.

Titans' Wesley Woodyard: Leads way with 14 tackles
Woodyard recorded 14 tackles in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Colts.
Woodyard was all over the field in the season finale, posting a season-best 14 tackles, matching his highest mark in a single game since Week 9 of 2017. He also both led the team in tackles while surpassing the century mark for the second-consecutive campaign -- an impressive feat for the 32-year old. Woodyard will enter the final season of a three-year extension in 2019, and figures to be a major part of the Titans' defense yet again. However, there are a number of promising young inside linebackers on the team that could vie for a bigger role, most notably Jayon Brown and Rashaan Evans.

Woodyard tallied 10 tackles and a sack in Saturday's 25-16 win over Washington.
Woodyard shed a questionable tag late in the week and led the Titans in tackles while also upping his sack total to 4.5 on the season. The performance marked the fifth time that he's reached double-digit tackles, though it was the first time he did so since Week 10 against New England. He needs to take down a ball carrier just once in Week 17 to record his second consecutive 100-tackle campaign.

Woodyard tallied 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Patriots.
Woodyard led an active Titans pass rush Sunday, registering three hits on the quarterback to go along with his 1.5 sacks. He now leads the team with 57 tackles despite missing most of October due to injury. He's been especially productive since returning to the field Oct. 21, recording 24 tackles and 2.5 sacks across three games.

After injury prevented Woodyard from making much of an impact throughout October, he took an active role in the Titans' defense Monday. The eight tackles were his highest total in a single-game since Sept. 23. Now apparently healthy, Woodyard will look to make a similar impact in Week 10 against the Patriots.
