Maple Leafs' Timothy Liljegren: Placed on long-term injured reserve
The Maple Leafs put Liljegren (ankle) on long-term injured reserve Saturday.
Liljegren suffered a high-ankle sprain late in the first period of Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to Boston, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports. He won't be eligible to return before Nov. 30 against Seattle. It's a tough loss for the Maple Leafs because Liljegren was eating up valuable minutes as a second-pairing defenseman. Liljegren has one assist, 18 blocked shots and eight hits in 10 games this season.

Maple Leafs' Timothy Liljegren: Will miss significant time
Liljegren's lower-body injury is significant and he will miss time, David Alter of Sports Illustrated reports.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe provided that update after the Maple Leafs' 3-2 shootout loss to the Bruins. Liljegren was hurt in a collision with Brad Marchand. With Liljegren out and Jake McCabe (groin) not ready to play yet, the Maple Leafs will likely need to make a call-up prior to Saturday's game versus the Sabres.

Maple Leafs' Timothy Liljegren: Exits contest
Liljegren (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Bruins.
Liljegren was hurt after logging just 4:49 of ice time in the contest. This is the second time in a week he's left a game early, but his previous injury was an upper-body issue. If Liljegren can't shake off this injury before Saturday's game versus the Sabres, the Maple Leafs will have to either call up a defenseman or play one player short to unlock the ability for emergency recalls.

Maple Leafs' Timothy Liljegren: Good to go
Liljegren (upper body) will be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus Los Angeles, NHL.com's Dave McCarthy reports.
Liljegren exited Saturday's loss to the Predators with an upper-body issue after recording just 11:45 of ice time, but it appears the injury that forced him from that contest wasn't overly serious. Look for the 24-year-old Swede, who's picked up one helper through eight games this season, to skate on the second pairing and the second power-play unit against the Kings.

Maple Leafs' Timothy Liljegren: Suffers lower-body injury
Liljegren sustained a lower-body injury and is doubtful to return to Saturday's game versus Nashville.
Liljegren left the contest midway through the second period after absorbing a hit from the Predators' Yakov Trenin, David Alter of Sports Illustrated reports. Going into Saturday's action, Liljegren had an assist, five hits and 13 blocks in seven appearances while averaging 20:16 of ice time this season. Another Maple Leafs defenseman, Jake McCabe, suffered a lower-body injury Thursday, so Toronto will probably need to call someone up if neither blueliner is available for Tuesday's contest against the Kings.

Liljegren scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Kraken.

Sunday's two-point effort snapped a 10-game dry spell for Liljegren, who went plus-2 with 13 shots on net and 18 blocked shots in that span. The 23-year-old blueliner has the potential to be a solid depth contributor, but fantasy managers will likely want to see him sustain some offense before picking him up. He has five goals, 10 helpers, 61 shots on net, 82 hits, 74 blocked shots and a plus-26 rating through 49 appearances this season.
