    Forsberg (knees) is expecting to return to the ice in full equipment come July, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.

    Forsberg underwent surgery on both knees in February and stated that he could return to the ice at this time but wanted to strengthen his knees even more. Forsberg is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in September. He finished the season with an 11-11-2 record, as well as a 3.26 GAA and .902 save percentage.

    Norris (shoulder) is looking to start skating next month, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

    Norris was plagued by shoulder issues all season, and he finally decided on surgery in late January after playing only eight games. Norris said that his shoulder is feeling good. He managed only two goals and an assist in 2022-23, after scoring 35 times and adding 20 helpers in 66 games during the 2021-22 campaign.

    Giroux scored his 35th goal of the season in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Sabres.

    His tally midway through the second period gave Ottawa a 3-2 lead, but the team couldn't hold it. Giroux was rejuvenated by his move to the Senators -- the 35-year-old's 35 goals are a career high, topping the 34 he scored back in 2017-18 for Philly, and his 79 points is his best total since 2018-19.
