  • Rangers' Filip Chytil: Traveling with team

Chytil (head) will travel to Washington with the team in hopes of playing Friday in Game 3, per Peter Baugh of The Athletic.

Chytil only played in 10 games with the big club during the regular season, recording six assists and 22 shots on goal. The 24-year-old has played in 30 career playoff games, logging eight goals and five assists. Another update on his status should surface prior to puck drop versus the Capitals on Friday.

  • Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Two-point effort Tuesday

Zibanejad produced a power-play goal and a shorthanded assist Tuesday in a 4-3 win over the Capitals in Game 2.

After finding the back of the net in the first period, Zibanejad helped set up K'Andre Miller for what proved to be the game-winner late in the second. Zibanejad is riding an active eight-game point streak extending back to the end of the regular season -- through two postseason contests, he's collected a goal and three points. He'll look to keep rolling on the road Friday in Game 3.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Two points in Game 2

Trocheck scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist during Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals in Game 2 of the Rangers' first-round series.

Both points came in the first period as the Rangers jumped out to an early 2-1 lead. Trocheck posted a career-high 77 points in the regular season, and he's stayed hot with a goal and three points through the first two games of the playoffs.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Hangs on for Game 2 win

Shesterkin stopped 22 shots Tuesday during a 4-3 win over the Capitals in Game 2 of the Rangers' first-round series Tuesday.

The Caps only beat Shesterkin at even strength once on the night, as their last two tallies came on power plays. The 28-year-old netminder has allowed four goals on 46 shots to help the Rangers build a 2-0 series lead, and dating back to late March he hasn't given up more than three goals in any of his last nine starts, posting a 2.09 GAA and .921 save percentage over that stretch. Shesterkin will look to stay locked in as the series shifts to Washington for Game 3 on Friday.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Slated to start Game 2

Shesterkin is expected to guard the crease for Tuesday's Game 2 home matchup with Washington, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.

Shesterkin is riding a three-game winning streak during which he has posted a 0.98 GAA, .963 save percentage and one shutout. While Jonathan Quick has been a capable backup this year, securing 18 wins in 27 appearances, the 28-year-old Shesterkin should remain firmly cemented in the starting role throughout the postseason.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Picks up helper

Trocheck garnered an assist in Sunday's 4-1 victory over the Capitals in Game 1.

Trocheck has gone 11 games without a goal dating back to March 26 versus the Flyers. During his slump, the 30-year-old center has managed six helpers, including two with the man advantage. Look for the veteran center to continue filling a second-line role while also featuring with the No. 1 power-play unit.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Allows just one in Game 1 win

Shesterkin allowed a single goal on 21 Washington shots during Sunday's 4-1 Game 1 win.

The 2022 Vezina winner allowed just two goals on the last 61 shots he faced during the regular season. Shesterkin carried that momentum into Game 1, posting a .952 save percentage. While the Rangers haven't made it to the Cup finals with Shesterkin in net, he's been a strong playoff performer with a .929 save percentage and 14 wins through 29 career playoff games.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Starts playoffs with goal

Kreider scored the final goal in Sunday's 4-1 Game 1 win over the Capitals.

Kreider opened the postseason doing what he's consistently done over the Rangers' last two playoff runs. Since the start of the 2022 playoffs, Kreider has 17 goals and 26 points through 28 games. Sunday's game got chippy, and if the series stays that way and penalties begin to mount, Kreider could become a significant factor as a key piece of the Rangers' top power-play unit. He was sixth in the NHL with 18 power-play goals this season. Since the start of the 2019-20 season, he is tied for third in power-play goals with 72, sitting behind only Leon Draisaitl and Sam Reinhart. Sunday's third-period marker came at even strength, though.

  • Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Scores, adds assist in Game 1 win

Vesey scored a goal and assisted on another during Sunday's 4-1 win over the Capitals in Game 1.

Vesey also posted a plus-2 rating, making the most of his 11:48 of ice time. It's a great start, but Sunday's production isn't necessarily predictive of what's to come. Through 19 postseason contests prior to Sunday, he had just one goal, six points and 20 shots.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Opens playoffs with two apples

Goodrow had two assists during Sunday's 4-1 victory over Washington in Game 1.

Despite his reputation as a playoff performer, Goodrow has never shown huge offensive production in the postseason. His career-best mark is six points in 25 games during Tampa Bay's 2020 run to the Cup. Two points and a plus-2 rating in the postseason opener is a solid start for the fourth-line forward.

  • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Pots game-winner

Panarin scored the game-winning goal early in the second period during Sunday's 4-1 Game 1 win over Washington.

Panarin played a huge role in the Rangers' 2022 playoff run, scoring six goals and 16 points in 20 games. He was less effective last year, contributing just two assists through seven contests. After a career-best 49 goals and 120 points during the regular season, Panarin looks ready to make a postseason impact. He finished Sunday's game with a goal, seven shots, a hit and a plus-1 rating.

  • Rangers' Matt Rempe: Opens flurry of scoring

Rempe opened the scoring in the second period during Sunday's 4-1 Game 1 win over the Capitals.

The fan-favorite forward got the crowd into a frenzy with his goal 4:17 into the second period, and the Rangers rode the wave, adding two more goals in the next 2:06. Rempe added a plus-2 rating, two shots, two PIM and three hits in just 8:33 of ice time. He's no Artemi Panarin with the puck on his stick, but Rempe's physicality and penchant for penalties can provide surprising value in the right formats. In 18 career games including Sunday's, the 6-foot-7 winger has 73 PIM.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting Sunday

Shesterkin will guard the home net Sunday against the Capitals, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post.

Shesterkin finished the regular season strong, winning four of his last five starts with a .926 save percentage. He'll be back between the pipes for the Rangers' playoff opener Sunday against a Caps team that averaged 2.63 goals per game this year.

  • Rangers' Louis Domingue: Back in NHL

Domingue was recalled from AHL Hartford on Saturday.

Domingue played in one NHL game this season after Igor Shesterkin suffered a lower-body injury in early November. The 32-year-old Domingue stopped 25 shots in a 4-1 win over Minnesota on Nov. 9 but spent the remainder of the season in the AHL. He will be the third-string goaltender in the postseason behind Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick.

  • Rangers' Adam Edstrom: Recalled Saturday

Edstrom was recalled from AHL Hartford on Saturday.

Edstrom will rejoin the Rangers as a depth option for their playoff run. The 6-foot-8 forward had two goals and 30 hits in 11 games at the NHL level this season.
