Antoine Wesley: Gets practice squad opportunity
Wesley was signed to the Raiders' practice squad Wednesday.
Wesley was most recently a member of the Cardinals, but he spent all of the 2022 campaign on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury. The veteran wideout will now look to develop as a member of the Raiders' practice squad in hopes to carve out a depth role on the team's roster.

Antoine Wesley: Cleared to work out for teams
Wesley (quad) was medically cleared to work out for teams Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Wesley spent all of last season on injured reserve after going down with the quad issue during the summer. Still just 25 years old and big-framed at 6-foot-4 and 206 pounds, Wesley should get some attention. He caught 19 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns as a red-zone weapon for the Cardinals in 2021.

Cardinals' Antoine Wesley: Recovering from torn quadriceps
Wesley sustained torn quadriceps during the week ahead of Arizona's loss versus Philadelphia on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Though initially thought to be an aggravation of a prior hip injury, it's actually ruptured quadriceps muscles that will keep Wesley out for the remainder of the 2022 campaign. The Cardinals will probably continue to rely on A.J. Green to perform the offensive functions with which Wesley might otherwise have been tasked.

Cardinals' Antoine Wesley: Going on IR
Wesley's hip injury will keep him out the remainder of the season, and he will therefore be placed back on injured reserve per head coach Kliff Kingsbury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
It's a brutal blow to Wesley, who had been designated to return from IR last Monday. His season will end without ever having played a game this year, as he suffered the injury in practice in preparation for his return to the field.

Cardinals' Antoine Wesley: Suffers setback, won't play Sunday
Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Friday that Wesley (hip) suffered a setback and won't play Sunday against the Eagles, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
After missing the minimum four games, Wesley was designated to return from injured reserve Monday. However, per his head coach, the wideout has suffered a setback and won't be added to the active roster for Week 5. The severity of the setback is unclear, but Wesley could be forced to miss the remainder of the season if he isn't activated off IR within 21 days of being designated to return.

Wesley (hip) was designated to return from injured reserve Monday.
Wesley has missed the minimum four games since being placed on IR on Sept. 2. He'll have three weeks to be moved to the active roster, but he can return as soon as Sunday against the Eagles. Wesley was expected to play a significant role early in the season with DeAndre Hopkins serving a suspension, but his hip injury derailed those plans. With Hopkins' return still a couple weeks away, and A.J. Green (knee) uncertain for Week 5, Wesley could see a prominent role Sunday against the Eagles if he can suit up.

The Cardinals placed Wesley (hip) on injured reserve Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Wesley has been dealing with the issue since the start of August and will now be forced to miss at least the first four games of the regular season. With Wesley and DeAndre Hopkins (suspension) out to begin the campaign, the Cardinals may need Greg Dortch and Andy Isabella to play expanded roles on offense.

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday that Wesley (hip) could miss one or two more weeks, Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic reports.
Wesley has been dealing with the issue since the start of August, and surgery has popped up as an option, but it appears the Cardinals are going to try and wait it out. While it sounds like the wideout may miss the remaining preseason games, he's likely still a lock for the initial 53-man roster with DeAndre Hopkins slated to miss the first six games of the season due to suspension.

Cardinals' Antoine Wesley: Surgery possible
Wesley may need surgery on his injured groin/hip, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Wesley picked up the issue at Thursday's practice and subsequently underwent an MRI. Coach Kliff Kingsbury noted the team will have a better idea whether or not Wesley requires a procedure to address the injury in the next week, or if rehabbing it will be able to get the wide receiver back to 100 percent. With DeAndre Hopkins slated to miss the first six games of the season due to suspension, Wesley is in line to handle a decent number of reps as an outside receiver during that span, assuming he's healthy.

Wesley has signed his exclusive rights contract tender to remain with the Cardinals this season, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
The third-year receiver finished fourth in receiving yards (208) amongst Arizona's wideouts in 2021 and should continue to maintain a significant depth role for team, following the free-agent departure of Christian Kirk and with A.J. Green currently unsigned. At present, the Cardinals' top two wide receiver options are DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore.

Cardinals' Antoine Wesley: Tallies three touchdowns in 2021
Wesley hauled in 19 of 32 targets for 208 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games during the 2021 season.
The Ravens signed Wesley as an undrafted free agent in May 2019, but he didn't log his first NFL action until Week 3 of this past campaign as a member of the Cardinals. His first catch as a pro came in Week 8, and the 6-foot-4 wide receiver eventually became a regular in Arizona's offense when DeAndre Hopkins missed the majority of the second half of the season due to hamstring and knee injuries. In particular, Wesley was targeted six times in the red zone from Weeks 15-17, when he tallied his trio of scores. An exclusive rights free agent this offseason, he's limited to signing the contract tendered to him by the Cardinals.
