Quinn (Achilles) is expected to be ready to play around the start of the new year, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. Quinn started skating in mid-November, but he's still not expected to return for over a month. The 22-year-old underwent surgery in June, and it appears he may be out a little longer than the initial 4-6 month timeline he was given.... See More ... See Less

Sabres' Jack Quinn: Has begun skating
Quinn (Achilles) has started doing rehab skates according to coach Don Granato on Tuesday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. Quinn's Achilles injury was expected to sideline him for at least six months, which would put his return date in late December. Still, the fact that Quinn has started skating is certainly a step in the right direction. In 75 games last season, Quinn notched 14 goals and 23 helpers, including six power-play points, but is unlikely to repeat those numbers following his long-term absence.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Not close to returning
Quinn (Achilles) is making progress in his recovery, but he isn't close to returning, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Sabres GM Kevyn Adams cautioned that even after Quinn is cleared to resume skating, the 22-year-old forward will still need to put in a lot of work before he's ready to play. Quinn recorded 14 goals and 37 points in 75 contests last season. He might draw into a middle-six role once he's healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Suffers Achilles injury
Quinn underwent surgery for an Achilles injury Wednesday and will be sidelined for 4-6 months, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Based on this timeline, Quinn will be out for at least the first month of the 2023-24 season, though his recovery could carry into December if he trends toward the six-month range. It's a huge blow for the 21-year-old winger, who is coming off a strong rookie campaign that saw him rack up 14 goals and 23 assists in 75 contests. With Quinn on the shelf and almost certainly starting the 2023-24 campaign on long-term injured reserve, John-Jason Peterka and Victor Olofsson could both be candidates for a top-six role to start the season.... Sabres' Jack Quinn: Two-point effort Friday
Quinn recorded a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-4 win over the Devils. Both points came in the first period as the Sabres jumped out to a 3-1 lead before the 11-minute mark and chased Akira Schmid from the game, with Quinn's tally being the dagger. It was his first multi-point performance in March, but the 21-year-old is still having a productive first full season in the NHL with 14 goals and 34 points through 64 games.... See More ... Sabres' Jack Quinn: Two points in Tuesday's loss
Quinn scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jackets. It's the second straight multi-point effort for the 21-year-old, who is filling in admirably for Alex Tuch (lower body) on Buffalo's top line alongside Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner. Tuch may not be back until mid-March at the earliest, so Quinn has a clear path to real fantasy value over the next couple weeks after amassing three goals and eight points over the last seven games.... Sabres' Jack Quinn: Two helpers against Caps
Quinn notched two assists in Sunday's 7-4 win over Washington. The 21-year-old is back on Buffalo's top line alongside Tage Thompson, and he's taking advantage. Over the last six games, Quinn has picked up two goals and six points after managing only one goal over his prior 11 contests. The eighth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft is still trying to establish some consistency with the Sabres, but his talent makes him a viable fantasy option while he's hot.... See More ... Sabres' Jack Quinn: Scores in loss to Toronto
Quinn netted a goal in Buffalo's 6-3 loss to the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. Quinn found the back of the net at 5:12 of the third period to narrow Toronto's lead to 5-1. It was his ninth goal and 15th point in 48 games in 2022-23. The 21-year-old was held off the scoresheet in four of his previous five outings.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Provides two assists
Quinn logged two assists and a plus-3 rating in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Ducks. Quinn had been limited to a single goal over his last 11 games. That slump has seen him dropped to the third line recently, and he hasn't exceeded 15 minutes of ice time in a game since Dec. 10. The 21-year-old has eight goals, 14 helpers, 72 shots on net, 24 hits and a plus-6 rating through 46 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Scores opening goal
Quinn scored a goal on two shots in the Sabres' 3-2 shootout loss to the Wild on Saturday. Quinn scored a goal on an incredible individual effort, opening the scoring just 2:22 into the game. This goal snaps a seven-game point drought for Quinn and gives him just three points in his last 18 games. On the season, the 2020 eighth-overall selection has eight goals and 20 points in 42 games.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Pair of points in return to action
Quinn scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Predators. Quinn was scratched and sent down earlier in the week following a nine-game point drought. He clearly got the memo, responding with an energetic performance that included a helper on a Dylan Cozens goal and an insurance tally of his own. Quinn had a solid stretch over November and December before his recent slump -- the key will be finding consistency for the long haul. He's at seven goals, 19 points, 52 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 34 NHL appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Recalled from AHL
Quinn was recalled from AHL Rochester on Friday. Quinn was sent down Thursday, but it was just a paper move, as coach Don Granato wanted Quinn to watch a couple of games from the press box to get a different perspective. Quinn is pointless in his last nine games, but he had five goals and 12 points in the prior 12 games. He has six goals and 17 points in 33 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Pots pair of goals in win
Quinn scored two goals, including one on the power play, in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Sharks. This was Quinn's second multi-goal game of the season, and five of his six tallies this year have come in the last six contests. He's also added two assists in that span while getting things done on the Sabres' second line. For the season, the 21-year-old has 14 points (five on the power play), 33 shots on net and a plus-5 rating in 20 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Key role in shootout win
Quinn provided an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Red Wings. Quinn helped out on a Dylan Cozens goal in the second period. After the Red Wings rallied in the third, the game went to a shootout, where Quinn made a nifty move on the only successful attempt, lifting the Sabres to victory. The 21-year-old has found a spot on the second line at even strength, picking up three goals and three assists over his last six contests. He's up to 11 points, 30 shots on net, 12 hits and a plus-4 rating in 18 outings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Collects game-tying marker
Quinn scored a goal during Monday's 6-5 overtime loss to the visiting Lightning. Capping a combined four-goal first period Monday, Quinn connected on his third in three games, tying the contest at 2-2. Quinn, who is attempting to rebound from a poor start this season, has collected five points over his past five appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Lights lamp twice against Blues
Quinn scored two goals in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Blues. Both goals were unassisted tallies in the third period, and both were nearly identical -- the 21-year-old stole the puck from a St. Louis player in the Buffalo zone to create a 2-on-1, then finished the break himself, with the first goal deflecting off the Blues' defender and the second coming after he deked Jordan Binnington out of his skates. Quinn is beginning to look the part of the eighth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, finding the scoresheet in three straight games and collecting three goals and nine points in his last 11 contests.... Sabres' Jack Quinn: Back in lineup Saturday
Quinn (upper body) will be in the lineup against Toronto on Saturday, Jourdon LaBarber of the Sabres' official site reports. Quinn missed the last two games with the injury. The first-round pick (eighth overall) from 2020 has a goal and five points in 12 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Returns to practice Friday
Quinn (upper body) is back at practice Friday, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News. Quinn has missed Buffalo's last two games with the injury. He has a goal and five points in 12 games this season and was seeing time on the top power play before his injury.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Day-to-day following imaging
Quinn (upper body) is day-to-day and not expected to play Tuesday against Vancouver, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Quinn had imaging done after being struck by the puck on the side of his head Saturday versus Boston. He is not expected to play this week. The 21-year-old forward has a goal and four assists through 12 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Jack Quinn: Out with undisclosed injury
Quinn is expected to miss the next three games as he continues to be evaluated for an undisclosed injury Monday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Quinn was stuck in a five-game goal drought prior to getting hurt during which he managed just five shots, though he did register three assists over that stretch. With Quinn sidelined, Peyton Krebs could be in line for a top-six role while the Sabres are expected to recall a forward from AHL Rochester to fill out the lineup for Tuesday's clash with Vancouver....
