Goodwin ended Friday's 136-124 victory over the Spurs with 17 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals over 31 minutes. The Wizards put up 136 points against the Spurs for their third-highest scoring game of the season. Goodwin has shown plenty of flashes this season when he gets opportunities, and he got a big one Friday as he cleared 30 minutes for the first time since Dec. 12. He could be an intriguing fantasy pickup down the stretch if Bradley Beal (knee) and Kyle Kuzma (ankle) miss additional time.... See More ... See Less

Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Gets double-digit minutes again
Goodwin finished Wednesday's 118-104 loss to the Nuggets with 12 points (5-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes. Following a six-game stretch earlier this month in which he sat out twice in coach's decisions and logged between four and 13 minutes over his four appearances, Goodwin looked like a fringy member of head coach Wes Unseld Jr.'s rotation. However, the situation has changed for Goodwin over the last two games, as he's taken on minutes loads in the teens while going an impressive 7-for-12 from the field between those contests. The absence of Kyle Kuzma (ankle) for the past two contests and Bradley Beal (knee) for Wednesday's game may have played a factor in Goodwin's boosted playing time, so his role will be keeping an eye on once the Wizards are back to full strength.... Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Multi-year deal with Washington
The Wizards signed Goodwin to a multi-year deal Wednesday. Goodwin opened the season on a two-way deal but quickly emerged as a rotational piece for Washington and is averaging 6.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks in 18.1 minutes across 40 NBA appearances. With the Wizards back to full strength, Goodwin has fallen out of the rotation of late, appearing in just five of the team's past 14 contests. However, the Wizards no longer need to worry about exceeding the 50-game limit at the NBA level that comes with a two-way deal, so Goodwin could work his way back into the rotation behind the likes of Monte Morris, Delon Wright and Kendrick Nunn. Goodwin's new deal is fully guaranteed for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign, partially guaranteed next season and has a team option for 2024-25, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic.... See More ... Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Upgraded to standard deal
The Wizards plan to convert Goodwin's two-way contract into a standard NBA deal Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Despite being on a two-way deal, Goodwin emerged as a rotational piece for Washington earlier this season and is averaging 6.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks in 18.1 minutes per game across 40 appearances with the NBA team. With the Wizards backcourt having returned to full strength of late, Goodwin has fallen out of the rotation, appearing in just five of the team's past 14 contests. However, Washington no longer needs to worry about exceeding the 50-game limit at the NBA level that comes with players on a two-way deal, so Goodwin could start to see more playing time again behind the likes of Monte Morris, Delon Wright and Kendrick Nunn.... Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Needs 20 shots to score 18 points
Goodwin posted 18 points (8-20 FG, 2-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 36 minutes in Wednesday's win over Maine. Goodwin struggled badly from the field and ended up with more field goal attempts than points scored, but he still delivered a decent stat line as the Go-Go came away with the victory. One of seven players that scored in double digits for Capital City in this contest, Goodwin is averaging 19.3 points per game in the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Scores team-high 23 points
Goodwin notched 23 points (9-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3FT), seven rebounds, six assists and two steals across 34 minutes in Sunday's loss to Long Island. Goodwin was efficient from the field and posted solid numbers in other categories, but unfortunately his efforts were not enough to carry the Go-Go to victory. Goodwin was the only player who ended up with more than 15 points in this contest, and he has reached that mark in each of his three regular-season appearances with Capital City.... See More ... Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Puts up 20 points in loss
Goodwin delivered 20 points (5-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals across 33 minutes in Sunday's 111-107 loss to the Charge. Goodwin was not efficient from the field, as evidenced by the fact that he needed 15 shots to score 20 points, but he still contributed enough in other categories to end up with a decent outing in a tight loss for Capital City. Goodwin has spent time with the Wizards and this was his first game in the G League during the regular season, so expect him to be one of Capital City's go-to players as long as he remains in this level.... Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Struggles in spot start Friday
Goodwin logged five points (2-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 26 minutes during Friday's 112-108 loss to the Knicks. Goodwin was inserted into the starting lineup Friday, replacing Monte Morris, who was ruled out due to a hamstring issue. Despite the increase in role, Goodwin failed to produce, ending the night with a team-worst minus-20 plus/minus. There is no word on whether Morris will miss additional time, but if that is the case, Goodwin could very well stick in the opening unit. With that said, managers may be better off targeting Delon Wright, who profiles as a better per-minute option thanks to his ability to contribute across multiple categories.... See More ... Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Starting Friday
Goodwin will start Friday's game against the Knicks. Monte Morris has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, allowing Goodwin to enter the starting five for the fourth time this season. Across his previous three starts, the two-way guard has averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in 33.0 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Lackluster results in win
Goodwin produced two points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds in 12 minutes during Tuesday's 113-110 victory over the Suns. Goodwin remained in a bench role for a fourth consecutive game Tuesday, and he was unable to generate much production in any categories while playing just 12 minutes. Over his last four appearances, he's averaged 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 18.5 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Returns to bench
Goodwin isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's matchup with the Nuggets. Monte Morris' return to the lineup Wednesday will move Goodwin back to his bench role. Goodwin averaged 14.0 points, 6.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 37.0 minutes per game over his past two starts.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Brings defense in loss
Goodwin ended Saturday's 114-107 loss to the Clippers with 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six assists, six steals and four rebounds over 38 minutes. Goodwin got off to a slow start in this one by scoring only two points in the first quarter, but he knocked down three of seven attempts from the field in the second period and ultimately turned in a solid scoring night. Perhaps more noteworthy was Goodwin's performance on the defensive end, where he continued to be a pest in the passing lanes. He's now racked up 11 steals in the past two games, and he may have the potential to be an elite contributor in that category if his minutes remain strong in the absences of Bradley Beal (hamstring) and Monte Morris (groin).... Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Starting with Morris out
Goodwin will start Saturday's game against the Clippers, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. The Wizards are thin Saturday, as Bradley Beal (hamstring), Will Barton (foot), Monte Morris (groin), Rui Hachimura (ankle) and Delon Wright (hamstring) are sidelined. Goodwin will make the second start of his career Saturday. Per 36 minutes, he's averaging 12.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Low minutes in loss
Goodwin notched three points (1-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist across 14 minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets. Goodwin hit his only shot toward the end of the third quarter and then didn't see the floor at all in the fourth. Coach Steve Clifford went with a bigger lineup and stuck with it as the unit mounted a huge comeback. This is the second straight game that Goodwin saw less than 20 minutes, which might be something to monitor.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Set to make first career start
Goodwin is in the starting five for Wednesday's game against the Heat. Goodwin gets the start Wednesday with Bradley Beal (thigh) out. Goodwin will make his first career start and his 13th NBA appearance against Miami.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Questionable for Sunday
Goodwin (knee) is labeled questionable for Sunday's contest versus the Hornets, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports. Goodwin has been a key piece off the bench for Washington this season, averaging nearly 24 minutes per game over his last six appearances. His status will certainly be worth monitoring Sunday in tandem with starting point guard Monte Morris (ankle), who is also considered questionable.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Unavailable Friday
Goodwin (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Miami. Goodwin played at least 20 minutes in the last six matchups and averaged 8.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 23.8 minutes per game during that time. However, he'll be forced to miss at least one game due to left knee soreness. His next chance to return will be Sunday against Charlotte.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Questionable Friday
Goodwin (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Heat. Goodwin suffered the injury during Wednesday's loss to the Thunder. Even with Bradley Beal back from COVID-19 protocols, it appears Goodwin may stay in the rotation. However, he may have to rest his knee before resuming his newfound role.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Suffers knee injury
Coach Wes Unseld said Goodwin is undergoing testing for a knee injury he sustained in Wednesday's 121-120 loss to the Thunder, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. The Wizards will have to wait for testing results to know the extent of Goodwin's injury, but his status for Friday's game versus Miami is uncertain. If Goodwin misses any time, Monte Morris should receive extended minutes, and Johnny Davis may be recalled from the G League.... See More ... See Less -
Wizards' Jordan Goodwin: Strong shooting from downtown
Goodwin logged 10 points (3-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 26 minutes during Sunday's 102-92 victory over Memphis. Goodwin did nearly all of his scoring from beyond the arc, as he's now knocked down three triples in back-to-back contests. He's continuing to carve out a role for himself while Johnny Davis struggles to find his stride in the NBA. Goodwin has averaged 24.6 minutes to go with 9.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists in his last five games.... See More ... See Less
