Top D'Onta Foreman News

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Practicing fully

Foreman is a full participant in practice this week ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Foreman has been inactive for the Bears' last two games, but an injury isn't in play, as he's simply fallen behind rookie Roschon Johnson on the depth chart. Meanwhile, No. 3 running back and core special-teams player Travis Homer (ankle) was added to the Bears' injury report Thursday as a limited participant in practice, so Foreman could re-enter the backfield mix Week 4 if Homer isn't available.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Practicing fully

Foreman is practicing fully ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Foreman has been inactive for the Bears' last two games, but an injury isn't in play on the front. Meanwhile, fellow RB Travis Homer (ankle) was added to the team's injury report as limited Thursday and if he's out this weekend, Foreman could re-enter Chicago's backfield mix in Week 4.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Healthy inactive again in Week 3

Foreman (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Chiefs.

The offseason addition will thus be relegated to healthy scratch status for the second consecutive game as rookie Roschon Johnson and change-of-pace back Travis Homer slot in behind Khalil Herbert. The extent of Foreman's regular-season action in a Bears uniform thus far is the 21 snaps he logged in the season-opening loss to the Packers, and his next opportunity to suit up comes in a Week 4 home battle against the Broncos next Sunday.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Healthy scratch in Week 2

Foreman is a healthy scratch Week 2 against Tampa Bay.

Foreman seemingly started the season as the No. 2 back behind Khalil Herbert, but the Bears gave rookie Roschon Johnson an extended look in the second half of Week 1's blowout loss to the Packers and apparently liked what it saw. Chicago will now enter the second week of the season with just three active backs -- Herbert, Johnson and Travis Homer, who is largely a special-teams asset. The latest development essentially extinguishes Foreman's fantasy upside for the immediate future.

  • Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Headed for healthy scratch

Foreman is expected to be a healthy inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Chicago kept four running backs active for last week's season-opening loss to the Packers, but Foreman looks as though he'll be the odd man out Week 2. After rookie Roschon Johnson impressed with 11 touches (five carries, six catches) for 55 yards Week 1, he's expected to step in as the primary backup to starter Khalil Herbert on Sunday, while Travis Homer likely retains a role as the No. 3 back due to his ability to contribute on special teams. Foreman, who carried five times for 16 yards and added two catches for eight yards in the 38-20 loss to the Packers, could become a regular on the inactive list in the weeks to come if Johnson continues to capitalize on his opportunities and if both the rookie and Herbert are able to stay healthy.
