  • Panthers' D'Onta Foreman: Ejected in finale

Foreman rushed 12 times for 68 yards prior to being ejected early in the third quarter of Sunday's 10-7 win over the Saints.

Foreman and Saints defensive end Marcus Davenport were both disqualified after exchanging punches following a play with nearly 12 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Thanks to a long run of 21 yards, it had been a productive day for Foreman, who elevated his performance this season after Carolina traded fellow tailback Christian McCaffrey in October. In 17 games, including eight starts, Foreman rushed 203 times for 914 yards (4.5 per carry) and five touchdowns. Although he hardly contributed in the passing game while catching just five of nine targets for 26 yards, Foreman will now become an unrestricted free agent coming off his best campaign as a pro. At 26 years old, it'll be interesting to see whether the Panthers seek to re-sign Foreman to once again work alongside Chuba Hubbard, or whether the 235-pound tailback finds a prominent role elsewhere.

  • Panthers' D'Onta Foreman: Available in Week 18

Foreman (knee) is listed as active Sunday at New Orleans, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Foreman didn't make an appearance on Carolina's injury report until Friday due to a knee issue, which resulted in a cap on his reps and a listing of questionable for Week 18 action. In the end, though, the health concern won't keep him from suiting up Sunday. If he's able to handle his normal workload, Foreman should be in line for the 18.4 touches per game that he's averaged over the 10 contests since Christian McCaffrey was dealt to the 49ers after Week 6.

  • Panthers' D'Onta Foreman: Added to injury report

Foreman was added to the practice report Friday as a limited participant with a knee injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against New Orleans.

An end-of-week addition to the injury report puts Foreman's availability into question for the season finale. If he's deemed inactive ahead of the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Carolina will rely on Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blackshear out of the backfield. Interim head coach Steve Wilks said Friday that he expects Foreman to be a game-time decision, according to Joe Person of The Athletic.

  • Panthers' D'Onta Foreman: Stymied on ground Sunday

Foreman rushed 13 times for 35 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game in the Panthers' 30-24 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.

On the heels of a career-best 165-yard rushing effort against the Lions in Week 16, Foreman plummeted back down to earth against a Buccaneers run defense that put together one of its better performances of the season. Foreman's lackluster production was naturally very ill-timed from a fantasy perspective, but he'll have a chance to atone for those holding him in leagues still active in Week 18 when the Panthers close out the season on the road against the Saints.
