Patriots' La'Michael Pettway: Joins New England's active roster
The Patriots signed Pettway to a two-year contract Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The move corresponds with New England placing Hunter Henry (knee) on the injured reserve list Saturday. Pettway joined the Patriots' practice squad Dec. 26 after trying out with the team a month prior. Now that he's on the active roster, he'll provide depth at tight end behind Mike Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown, the latter of whom is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets with a rib injury.

La'Michael Pettway: Joins Patriots' practice squad
New England signed Pettway to its practice squad Tuesday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
Pettway tried out with the Patriots in late November and will now join the organization after being waived by Indianapolis with an injury settlement in August. The tight end has yet to suit up for an NFL game, though he has seen professional action in the USFL in both 2022 and 2023. Pettway could have a path to being elevated by the Patriots if Hunter Henry (knee) needs to miss more time.

Pettway has seemingly recovered from the undisclosed injury that led to his release from Indianapolis' injured reserve in August. The rookie undrafted free agent will now look to catch on with the Patriots.

La'Michael Pettway: Exits Indy
Pettway (undisclosed) was removed from the Colts' injured reserve Thursday with an injury settlment, per the NFL's transaction log.
Pettway spent the previous two seasons in the USFL and was looking transition into an NFL career. However, he suffered an undisclosed injury early in camp and was subsequently waived/injured by the Colts before reverting to their IR. The injury settlement means he can now look for a new opportunity once his health allows it.

Colts' La'Michael Pettway: Reverts to IR
Pettway (undisclosed) has reverted to the Colts' injured reserve, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Pettway signed with the Colts on Aug. 1 before getting sidelined with an undisclosed injury. He was looking to earn a spot in the NFL after spending the previous two seasons in the USFL. Now, his season has come to a premature end unless he and Indianapolis can come to terms on an injury settlement.

La'Michael Pettway: Let go due to injury
Pettway (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the Colts on Wednesday.
The undrafted free agent signed with Indianapolis on Aug. 1, but he spent just over a week with the Colts before he was cut loose to make room for veteran tight end Ricky Seals-Jones. Pettway will move to the injured reserve list if he clears waivers. The tight end has yet to make his NFL debut and played in the USFL the last two seasons.
