Chris Streveler: Let go with injury settlement
The Jets waived Streveler (thumb) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Streveler was slated to miss the entire 2023 campaign on IR, but he's now free to join a new team once he can pass a physical. The 2020 UDFA out of South Dakota has appeared in nine games over his first three NFL seasons, seven over two years in Arizona and two with the Jets last year, but he's never held a starting role.

Chris Streveler: Waived with injury designation
Streveler has been waived/injured by the Jets after he suffered a thumb injury on his throwing hand, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
If Streveler ultimately goes unclaimed off waivers he would revert to the Jets' IR and not be counted on their 90-man roster. From there, his season would be prematurely cut short unless he and the team can come to terms on an injury settlement once he gets a clean bill of health. Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle are currently the only three quarterbacks on the depth chart.

Jets' Chris Streveler: Reverted to injured reserve
Streveler (thumb) reverted to the Jets' injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Streveler was waived with an injury designation Monday, but he cleared waivers and has reverted to the Jets' injured reserve. The quarterback will now be forced to miss the entire 2023 campaign, barring an injury settlement. Streveler saw limited action in two games for New York last year, but he was on the roster bubble before the thumb issue popped up during training camp.

Chris Streveler: Waived by Jets
Streveler was waived by the Jets on Monday.
Streveler started one game for the Jets in 2022 after injuries ravaged New York's quarterback room. He became a fan favorite but was competing with Tim Boyle for the third-string quarterback role heading into the 2023 season. The Jets have opted to part ways with Streveler after he completed just one of seven pass attempts in the team's preseason opener.

Jets' Chris Streveler: Struggles in preseason opener
Streveler completed one of seven passes for nine yards and one interception in Thursday's 21-16 preseason loss to the Browns. He added seven yards on one rushing attempt.
After leading three second-half comebacks in the 2022 preseason, Streveler was in position to execute another such comeback in the final minutes of the Hall of Fame Game, but he didn't get the benefit of the doubt on what looked like a clear instance of defensive pass interference near the end zone. Even if that penalty had been called, Streveler didn't do much to convince New York's coaching staff he deserves to climb up from fourth on the quarterback depth chart.

Jets' Chris Streveler: Sticking with Jets
Streveler signed a reserve/future contract with the Jets on Monday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Streveler put together a strong preseason showing with the Jets before joining the team's practice squad ahead of the regular season. The 6-foot-1 dual-threat quarterback was then elevated for three games this season. This includes the Week 16 loss to Jacksonville, in which he went 10-for-15 passing for 90 yards to go along with nine carries for 54 yards after stepping in for benched starter Zach Wilson. Streveler was also active for the Week 17 tilt against Seattle, though he did not see the field while serving as the No. 3 quarterback behind Mike White and Joe Flacco. Streveler will now look to carve out a bigger role as a backup with the Jets this offseason.

Chris Streveler: Back to practice squad
Streveler reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Streveler was elevated to the active roster for the third time this season Week 17, meaning he won't be eligible to play Week 18 unless signed to the team's 53-man roster. While Zach Wilson will be inactive Week 18, New York has Mike White and Joe Flacco both available, so it remains to be seen whether the team will have need of Streveler's services.

Jets' Chris Streveler: Elevated ahead of Sunday
The Jets elevated Streveler from their practice squad Saturday.
Streveler entered last week's contest against Jacksonville for an ineffective Zach Wilson and completed 10 of 15 passes for 90 yards while gaining 54 yards on nine carries on the ground. However, Mike White is set to return and start for New York on Sunday against Seattle, so Streveler is slated to work behind him and Joe Flacco. Meanwhile, Wilson will be a healthy inactive for the key matchup.

Chris Streveler: Returns to Jets' practic squad
Streveler reverted to the Jets' practice squad Friday.
After being elevated from the practice squad for the second time this season in Week 16, Streveler came on in relief of a struggling Zack Wilson in last Thursday's 19-3 loss to the Jaguars. While playing 30 snaps on offense, Streveler completed 10 of 15 attempts for 90 yards while carrying nine times for 54 yards. Given Wilson's over the previous two weeks, he might have lost out on the starting job to either Streveler or Joe Flacco for the team's Week 17 game in Seattle if Mike White (ribs) wasn't available, but White has since received medical clearance and is in line to direct the offense this Sunday, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. According to Cimini, Flacco is in line to serve as White's top backup, while Wilson will be a healthy inactive. The Jets could choose to bring Streveler back from the practice squad as a third option at quarterback, given that he provides an element of mobility that neither White nor Flacco offers.
