The Commanders activated Eifler (hamstring) from injured reserve Friday, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Eifler sustained a hamstring injury back in Week 4 versus the Cowboys, and he was then placed on injured reserve up until the team designated his return Tuesday. Following Friday's activation, the 225-pounder is slated to operate as Washington's top available middle linebacker Sunday against the Falcons with Cole Holcomb (foot) and Drew White (knee) both currently on IR.

Eifler suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Cowboys, and he's failed to practice since. Eifler was signed from the Dolphins' practice squad by Washington on Tuesday.
Eifler went undrafted out of Illinois and spent training camp with the Jets before being cut. He then signed on with the Dolphins' practice squad, but he never made his way to the active roster. The 23-year-old will add depth to Washington's linebacker unit after Benjamin St-Juste was placed on IR on Dec. 2 with a concussion, and Khaleke Hudson (ankle) was placed on IR on Tuesday.
