Eifler (hamstring) was designated to return from IR on Tuesday, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Eifler suffered the injury Week 4 against the Cowboys and was placed on injured reserve Oct. 8. The 24-year-old has mostly contributed on special teams this season, but with Cole Holcomb currently dealing with a foot injury, Eifler could have a bigger role than usual if he is able to play Sunday against the Falcons.

Eifler (hamstring) isn't expected to play Sunday against the Titans, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Eifler suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Cowboys, and he's failed to practice since. The 24-year-old linebacker has just one tackle through the team's first four games, so his absence likely won't affect Washington's defensive scheme for Sunday's contest against the Titans. Eifler's next opportunity to play comes Thursday night in Chicago.

Eifler was signed from the Dolphins' practice squad by Washington on Tuesday.
Eifler went undrafted out of Illinois and spent training camp with the Jets before being cut. He then signed on with the Dolphins' practice squad, but he never made his way to the active roster. The 23-year-old will add depth to Washington's linebacker unit after Benjamin St-Juste was placed on IR on Dec. 2 with a concussion, and Khaleke Hudson (ankle) was placed on IR on Tuesday.
