  • Browns' Cade York: Quiet finish

York did not attempt a field goal and converted both extra-point kicks in Sunday's 28-14 loss to the Steelers in Week 18. York had a quiet finale but finished the season on a high note, making all eight kicks over the final three weeks. It was an uneven season for the rookie, who became a legend in training camp but made just 75 percent (24 of 32) of field-goal attempts. The Browns spent fourth-round draft capital on the LSU product, and while he may not have solidified the kicking game as envisioned, York was the least of the team's issues in 2022. They expect him to be their kicker in 2023.

  • Browns' Cade York: Makes all kicks

York converted his lone field-goal attempt and all three extra-point kicks in Sunday's 24-10 win over Washington in Week 17. York gave the Browns a 3-0 first-quarter lead when he buried a 37-yarder. Later in the quarter, he booted a chip shot from 25 yards, but Washington was offside on the play. That prompted head head coach Kevin Stefanski to bring the offense back to go for it on 4th-and goal from the 3-yard line, but Washington stopped them on downs.

  • Browns' Cade York: Makes both kicks

York converted his lone field-goal attempt and extra-point try in Saturday's 17-10 loss to New Orleans. York connected from 30 yards but was not given a shot at longer kicks on a brutally cold day with significant wind in Cleveland. Two drives ended on the Saints' side of the field, but attempts would have been from 59 and 60 yards. The Browns have averaged 11 points over the last three games, which suggests York is not a good option for fantasy teams still in the hunt.

  • Browns' Cade York: Misses two FGAs

York made two of four field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point kick in Saturday's 13-3 win over Baltimore. York was in position for a big day but missed from 38 and 46 yards on successive possessions in the fourth quarter. There was some December weather in Cleveland -- winds at 12 MPH from the northeast, freezing temperatures and snow -- but York refused to use it as an excuse. "I mean, it really wasn't that bad," York told Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal. "A little windy, snow came in, had nothing to do with anything that happened. Honestly, I thought I was handling really well and kicking the ball well into that fourth quarter." Fortunately for the Browns, the rookie kicker's miscues had no impact. York's made just 73 percent (22 of 30) of his field-goal attempts and missed a total of 10 kicks this season.

  • Browns' Cade York: Lobbied for long FGA

York pleaded with coaches to let him attempt a 68-yard field goal in last week's loss to the Bengals, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "If I'm asking for the kick, I think I can make it," York said. The Browns were at the 50-yard line and trailing, 13-3, with time running out in the first half. When quarterback Deshaun Watson spiked the ball to stop the clock, York lobbied to try the kick, but head coach Kevin Stefanski opted for a Hail Mary pass, which was unsuccessful. The rookie placekicker has converted four of seven attempts from beyond the 50, including a 58-yarder, and had a 60-yard effort blocked against the Ravens in October. York conceded never attempting a kick from 68 yards in pre-game warmups, but he felt confident he could make it.

  • Browns' Cade York: Perfect in win

York converted two of two field-goal attempts and three of three extra-point kicks in Sunday's 27-14 win over Houston in Week 13. York had been wobbly over the previous five weeks, converting just six of 10 field-goal attempts, so Sunday's effort was a welcome relief. The 2022 fourth-round pick was viewed as someone that could stabilize the position, as the team had burned through kickers since 2019, but there have been moments of uncertainty.

  • Browns' Cade York: Has kick blocked

York converted one of two field-goal attempts and both extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-23 loss to the Bills in Week 11. York had a 34-yard attempt blocked, the third time in four weeks a field goal was tipped. He leads all kickers with three attempts blocked, which may be an issue the Browns want to investigate. The team may want to determine if there are protection issues on the line, or if York's trajectory is contributing to the blocks. He's also had tries from 53 and 60 yards blocked.

  • Browns' Cade York: Makes all kicks in loss

York successfully converted his lone field-goal attempt and two extra-point tries in Sunday's 39-17 loss to the Dolphins in Week 10. York did his part in the loss, making all the opportunities he was allotted, but there was little a placekicker could do for the Browns in Week 10. Cleveland spent the entire second half down by two or three scores.

  • Browns' Cade York: Has one attempt blocked

York converted one of two field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries in Monday's 32-13 win over Cincinnati in Week 8. York had a kick blocked for a second consecutive week. His first try, from 53 yards out, was rejected by the Bengals' B.J. Hill. In last week's loss to the Ravens, York had a 60-yard boot deflected. The rookie kicker later redeemed himself with a 55-yard field goal.

  • Browns' Cade York: Has support of staff

Browns special teams coach Mike Priefer believes York will be "fine" after the rookie placekicker missed two field goals in Week 5's 30-28 loss to the Chargers, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "He's in a good place mentally, he kicked the ball really well [Wednesday], he's never really lost his confidence. He's just as disappointed as any one of us, as any one of our fans," Priefer said. Priefer and head coach Kevin Stefanski lived through a similar situation in 2018 with the Vikings, who had drafted Daniel Carlson in the fifth round (167th overall). Carlson missed three kicks in a game, including two in overtime, and was released after just two games. Carlson has since become a steady-footed kicker for the Raiders and led the league in points and field goals made last season. York will get a longer leash as a result of the coaches' experience with Carlson. "We did not handle that situation very well. We did not help Daniel mentally. He was probably not as strong as Cade at that age. I know he is now, he's doing a great job, he's a great kicker," the coach explained. York and the Browns host the Patriots in Week 6.

  • Browns' Cade York: Two misses in two-point loss

York missed both of his field-goal attempts and converted all four extra-point kicks in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Chargers in Week 5. York pushed a 45-yarder wide right at the end of the first half, then he went wide right from 54 yards with 11 seconds left in the game. He made quite the splash in training camp, preseason games and when he nailed a 58-yarder in Week 1 for the win, but the love he's felt may be waning. Since that Week 1 game-winning boot, York has missed two extra-point tries, and Week 5's two missed field goals stood out in a two-point loss. There was more beyond the missed kicks that contributed to Sunday's loss, but the rookie placekicker should feel some heat this week.

  • Browns' Cade York: Kicker to Sit

York did a good job for Fantasy managers in Week 1 at Carolina when he scored 15 Fantasy points, which included four field goals and two PATs. Since then, he's combined for four field goals on four attempts over his past three games, along with seven PATs on nine attempts. The Chargers have allowed three kickers to make multiple field goals this season, but only Riley Patterson in Week 1 scored more than nine Fantasy points. York is just a low-end option in all leagues this week.

  • Browns' Cade York: No misses Week 4

York converted two of two field-goal attempts and both extra-point kicks in Sunday's 23-20 loss to Atlanta in Week 4. York returned to being perfect after missing extra points in each of the last two weeks. The rookie kicker could have had a third field goal, but head coach Kevin Stefanski went for seven points on 4th-and-goal from the four-yard line on the first drive of the game, which ended with an incomplete pass. York is a perfect 8-for-8 on field goals and has 33 points through four weeks.

  • Browns' Cade York: Misses another extra point

York converted his lone field-goal attempt and two of three extra-point tries in Thursday's 29-17 win over Pittsburgh in Week 3. York's miss clanged off the upright and was his second in as many weeks. His miss last week was not the sole reason for Week 2's loss to the Jets, but it was part of a team-wide collapse. The rookie kicker was not given a chance for a second field goal just before halftime, when the Browns decided to go for it on 4th-and-2 at the Pittsburgh 31. York has 27 points through three games.

  • Browns' Cade York: Wins rookie award

York was named the winner of the Maurice Bassett Award, which is given annually to the most outstanding rookie in Cleveland's training camp, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. York earned the title with what has been a near-flawless camp. He successfully booted 28 of 30 field-goal attempts during competitive situations, and his final kick during Tuesday's session, from 54 yards, split the uprights with plenty to spare. There's a lot of hype surrounding the rookie, who's lived up to it thus far, but he'll need to deliver in regular-season contests, and in weather rarely experienced growing up in Texas or kicking for LSU.

  • Browns' Cade York: Misses first kick

York has made 11-of-12 field-goal attempts in training camp, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. A few of those successful boots were as far out as 53 yards, although when taking into consideration the distance beyond the goal posts, they could have been good from 60-plus. His lone miss was from 58 yards. The 2022 fourth-round pick out of LSU made 54-of-66 for the Tigers, including 21-of-27 as a freshman for the 2019 national championship team. Not since Phil Dawson, who left as a free agent in 2012 after 14 seasons in Cleveland, have interested observers felt this confident in a Browns' placekicker.
