The restructuring of Linsley's contract lowers his base salary from $11.5 million to the minimum for the 2024 season. The veteran has been mulling retirement, so this move creates $10.29 million in cap space if he retires after June 1, and the team could then spread the resulting dead cap hit out over two years.... Chargers' Corey Linsley: Headed to NFI-R list
The Chargers placed Linsley on the reserve/non-football illness list Saturday, Bridget Condon of NFL Network reports. Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reported Friday that Linsley was to be placed on injured reserve with a "non-emergent heart-related medical issue," though he is now set to move to the NFI-R list instead.
