Johnson (ankle) is inactive Week 8 against the Patriots. Jets' Jermaine Johnson: Deemed questionable for Sunday
Johnson (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Johnson has missed back-to-back games due to an ankle injury he picked up during Week 5, but he has a chance to return in Week 8 after logging a full practice Friday. If available, he figures to play a modest role along the Jets' defensive line. Before his injury, he recorded 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks while playing at least 30 percent of the defensive snaps in each of the team's first four contests.... See More ... See Less -

Rich Cimini@RichCimini2H agoThe Jets had high grades on 4 OLM who were available at 11 -- Fashanu, Fuaga, Fautanu and Guyton. What separated Fashanu? Joe Douglas noted that Fashanu is a natural left tackle (added value), calling him "a really high level, high impact pass protector." #Jets

Rich Cimini@RichCimini2H agoOlu Fashanu: Allowed only 1 sack in entire Penn State career (nearly 700 plays pass blocking); allowed a pressure rate of 1.1% in Penn State career, and suffered a blown block at the 3rd-lowest rate in the FBS since 2021 (min. 1,000 snaps at OT). @ESPNStatsInfo #Jets

Andy Vasquez@andy_vasquez2H agoJoe Douglas said Fashanu pick “was a tough choice” with so much talent still there, “but the right choice” for the Jets. Jets view him as a LT but didn’t close door to him playing inside as a rookie. Wouldn’t say if they would have picked him if a top WR was still available. https://t.co/uoU9HsRlIH
